ADB invests millions in the Horn of Africa -Story By Musa Radoli The African Development Bank (ADB) gave the Eastern Africa region US$560.3 million in loans and grants in 2010. This represented an increase of 8.7 per cent over the US$515.6 million approved in 2009 to nance projects in the 2011 financial year. The funds are meant to finance energy, communications, infrastructure and transport projects in nine countries that included those from the Horn of Africa region. The ADB targets Eastern Africa countries comprising greater Somalia, Kenya, Ethiopia, Etritrea, Djibouti, Burundi, Comoros, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda.
